Captain Yoshiahu H. of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reserves was at home on October 7, 2023 during the invasion of Israel by Hamas from Gaza. As a resident of a small Jewish community very close to Gaza, the war reached him almost immediately.
In the videos below, he tells his story of the beginning of the invasion, his escape from the area to join his tank unit in northern Israel, and the months he spent protecting Israel’s border with Lebanon from Hezbollah terrorists.
