Israeli politics are complicated. This seems especially so for people who are used to presidential systems such as the United States, as Israel is a parliamentary democracy. But even compared to other parliamentary democracies Israel has some unusual qualities, such as the sheer number of parties with representatives in the parliament. Keeping track of them all and knowing who stands for what is not easy!
