• Settlers Raising Funds to Buy Arms (The Jerusalem Post, September 12, 2000): Settlers are collecting millions of dollars in donations to purchase military and rescue equipment in preparation for a possible outbreak of violence if the peace talks fail. The equipment is being purchased in full coordination with the Israel Defence Forces (IDF).
• IDF Preparing for the Worst in Gaza (The Jerusalem Post, July 10, 2000): Palestinian forces in the Gaza Strip are preparing for large-scale conflict with the IDF should the peace talks flounder.

• The Islamic Wakf is currently conducting massive construction on the Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest place. The enormous archeological importance and religious significance of this site, along with Israeli law, have been ignored as bulldozers and other heavy equipment are being used for the work.
